So here's some interesting news from the FEI

By For Equestrians

They've launched a new part of their site called FEI TV. FEI TV will now show world class international equestrian events. A schedule of events to be shown can be found on the site under Live Schedule. Not only can you see exciting equestrian events as they happen, but the site also contains an archive of world class events in all of the FEI recognized disciplines.

Very exciting for those of us who love watching any discipline of equestrian event at its highest level. HOWEVER (and you knew this was coming) - when you go to the main page and try to click on something you'd like to watch, you are asked to pay, for either a day pass, a week long pass, or an annual pass.

I supposed it was to be expected. The day pass is $10.00 (7 euros), the week pass is $18 (13 euros) and the annual pass is $80 (60 euros). A little steep in our minds for a day pass, but if you are a true fan of equestrian sport and the current economic situation hasn't got you saving pennies for horse carrots, then 80 bucks for an annual pass isn't that bad. (You know of course that eventually everything ends up on You Tube any way for free if you can wait.)

Some Common Sense Thoughts on New Horse Ownership
I am often asked if I think it is a good idea for a novice own a young horse and learn together (as it were) to become a cohesive unit. I can’t remember how many times I have heard this type of idea espoused by people who really don't have a full picture of the type of potential chaos they're getting into. I don't want to start out on a negative note, but novice horse owners should really sit back and evaluate their expectations.
